Licensing and Accreditation

The Newborn Screening Ontario (NSO) laboratory operates under license #4282 and is the only laboratory in the province of Ontario authorized to perform newborn screening tests as outlined in Section 4 of the Laboratory and Specimen Collection Centre Licensing Act. These tests are subject to the specific quality criteria outlined by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare. NSO underwent a focused assessment on June 23rd and 24th, 2014 and obtained recognition as an ISO 15189PLUS accredited facility.
