Request Screening Results

Results from the newborn screening blood test are sent to the hospital or midwifery practice that did the test, by mail and/or electronically through the Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS). 

A baby's parent, guardian or health care provider can also request that results be sent to a baby's health care provider. Please note that we are not able to send results to health care providers outside of Canada; for these requests we recommend contacting the birth hospital or midwifery practice.

Results for for critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) screening are available immediately since the testing is done at the bedside. Results of CCHD screening can be requested from the hospital, birthing centre, or midwifery practice where the test was performed. 

To request newborn screening results from the dried blood spot test:
